If you are interviewing with a company, you will go through an exhaustive interview, but there is one thing that will not be asked directly, but if you bring this up, you will increase your chances of getting a job.
Companies today are in a real bind. They have to do lot with less. This is the new reality for all the companies. They face stiff competition from every where. The only place they can cut to be profitable is to hire people who can do multiple jobs and can get up to speed quickly.
They might think they are hiring for the job for which you have applied. If you just interview for the job that is being advertised then you are not going to differentiate yourself. You have to change the game and show you can do multiple job based on your experience, education, skills and ability to learn real fast and keep up.
This is one thing, if you do it well, will set you apart from other candidates and will land you the job. A word of caution here is that once you land the job, there are others out there the companies will be looking for who can replace you, so you have to add more skills and move up the value chain within an organization.
